# Deletes an agent (managed device) asset.

> This is the same delete the app performs: the RMM agent is uninstalled from the host and the
device is deactivated rather than removed, so its history on tickets and contacts survives.
A device that is already deleted or already uninstalling succeeds without a second uninstall
command, so a retried request is safe.
