# What are contacts in Gorelo

> Contacts represent the people at your client organizations in Gorelo. Learn how contacts link to tickets, approvals, emails, and the Client Portal.

## Import contacts

You can import your existing contacts as a CSV file in **Settings** > **Import** > select **Contacts**. To do so, the CSV must fulfill the following requirements:

* The [client associated with each contact](/assign-contact-to-client) in the CSV file must already exist in Gorelo.
* The client names in the CSV must match exactly the client names in Gorelo.
* Client names in Gorelo must be unique.
* Gorelo has a limit of a maximum of 1000 contacts per import.
