# What are documents

> Choose between unstructured documents for free-form how-to guides and structured documents based on forms for capturing consistent data entries in Gorelo.

Gorelo provides two types of documents:

* **Unstructured** documents are blank documents, such as provided in apps like Word or Notion. These documents are useful for documenting a ‘how to’ guide but not the best fit for something where very specific information needs to be captured,
* **Structured** documents are based on forms. You create them by:
  1. Building out a form that asks for the specific information you want.
  2. Fill this form for each entry you want to. For example each printer, network rack, application, and more.
