# Install Gorelo Connect (remote control)

> Install Gorelo Connect on Windows or macOS technician workstations to start remote control sessions from the Asset Detail page using one-click connections.

## Requirements

To successfully install Gorelo Connect on your machine, you need:

1. An active Gorelo subscription.
2. Gorelo Connect installed on the assets you want to monitor.

With these requirements in place, you can install Gorelo Connect on your machine and start monitoring your assets remotely.

## Install Gorelo Connect (technician side)

    1. On an asset with the Gorelo Connect plugin, click the ‘Connect’ button.

    2. You will see a small banner appear, click ‘Download’

    3. Install GoreloLauncher.exe (there will be two UAC prompts — one for Gorelo Launcher and one for Gorelo Connect)
    4. Click the ‘Connect’ button again
    5. Always allow the protocol handler to open gorelolauncher links

    6. You’ll then see the Launcher appear — followed quickly by the Gorelo Connect window

    ## Reinstall Gorelo Connect on an asset

    1. On an asset with the Gorelo Connect plugin, click the Policy section

    2. On the Gorelo Connect plugin, click the ‘heart’ icon to check health

    3. Then click the reinstall button when it appears.

    ## Manually add Gorelo Connect to a policy

    1. Navigate to [**<u>Policies</u>**](https://app.gorelo.io/Asset/policy-management) from the menu
    2. Select an existing Policy
    3. Hover over the ‘Add’ button up the top-right and then select ‘Plugin’
    4. Select ‘Gorelo Connect’ from the list
    5. Click ‘**Save**’
    6. **Distribute** the policy

      Add both of these to your [**Tooling Allowlist**](https://support.huntress.io/hc/en-us/articles/26620768607891-Host-Isolation-IP-Allowlist) in Huntress for remote access during host isolation.

    ## Choose default remote control tool

    Gorelo allows you to choose between the built-in tool or ScreenConnect as your default — all of the primary remote control buttons will then be bound to this selection.

    1. Navigate to Settings → Assets → [**Settings**](https://app.gorelo.io/admin/admin-settings#asset#customassettype)
    2. Toggle between Gorelo Connect or Screenconnect
    3. Click ‘**Update**’

    <Tip>
      Screenconnect requires a third-party subscription and is not included with Gorelo.

    ## Automatic install

    Gorelo Connect is automatically installed on new assets when the RMM agent is first installed.

    ## Manual install

    For existing macOS assets, Gorelo Connect can be manually enabled/disabled via the 3-dot menu. This can be used to manually install Gorelo Connect or to go through a reinstall process.

    ## Grant permissions

    On the first install (automatic or manual), you will be prompted to grant permission for Gorelo Connect in three areas:

    * Full Disk Access
    * Accessibility
    * Screen & System Audio Recording

    Select ‘Open System Settings’ on each popup and toggle on access for GoreloConnect — ‘Quit & Reopen’ if requested.

    ## Troubleshooting

    | **Issue**                                                         | **Fix**                                                                |

    | Remote keyboard/mouse not working                                 | Confirm **Accessibility** permission is enabled                        |
    | File transfer fails or prompting for individual folder permission | Confirm **Full Disk Access** permission is enabled                     |
    | Black screen or ‘Waiting for image’                               | Confirm **Screen Recording** permission is enabled                     |
    | No connection after macOS restart                                 | End user needs to log in first to decrypt the startup disk (FileVault) |
