The Client Portal in Gorelo is a self-service interface that gives your clients transparency and direct engagement with your services. Clients manage their own support needs, which reduces manual communication for your team.

Core capabilities

  • Ticket management: Clients can view their existing tickets or submit new ones directly through the Client Portal. Gorelo enhances real-time engagement with features like the ” is typing” indicator.
  • Project visibility: You can share project progress and basic information with clients by using the Share with field on the Project detail page.
  • Resource access: If you share a document in the Client Portal, clients can access it there.
  • Financial and usage tracking: Clients can see their invoice list, check for “Awaiting payment” statuses, and view remaining block or limited hours.
  • Quick Connect downloads: Clients can download your remote management tools directly on their machines.
To let end users message your service desk from a desktop app instead of the browser, deploy Gorelo Messenger.

Authentication and security

  • Access methods: End users can authenticate via Microsoft 365 SSO or by receiving a magic link via email.
  • Registration: To log in, you must have registered the user’s email address as a contact in your Gorelo tenant. Gorelo doesn’t send welcome emails, so share your portal URL with your clients yourself.
  • Secure links: For quick access to specific items, you can generate public doc links that allow anyone with the URL to view a document without needing to authenticate.

Extended visibility via contact tags

By default, a contact sees only the tickets they’re on. You can grant clients access to more data by applying predefined contact tags to their records:
  • Portal - All Tickets: Shows all tickets for the contact’s client and extends the ticket summary report to cover them.
  • Portal - All Assets: Allows the contact to view the asset summary report, including device health and warranty stats.
  • Portal - All Invoices: Allows the contact to see all organization invoices rather than just those sent to them individually.

Customization and UI

You can customize the Client Portal from Settings > Portal with the following options:
  • A custom URL (contact Gorelo support to activate this option)
  • Custom branding colors and favicons
  • Default light or dark mode

FAQ

The Client Portal shows times in the time zone of the end user’s browser or operating system, not the time zone set on the contact. If you see UTC, check the time zone of the browser or device you’re testing with. Privacy browsers with anti-fingerprinting features often report UTC.
No. Gorelo doesn’t send invitations when you create a contact. Share your portal URL from Settings > Portal with your clients, and they sign in with Microsoft 365 or a magic link.
