Create and synchronize contacts

You can import contacts in Gorelo and synchronize them with external tools such as: When an unknown sender emails your support address, Gorelo automatically attempts to create a new contact record for them by parsing their name from the email headers. If Gorelo can’t identify a last name from an incoming email, it leaves the last name field blank, keeping your contact database clean from duplicate names.

Import contacts

You can import your existing contacts as a CSV file in Settings > Import > select Contacts. To do so, the CSV must fulfill the following requirements:
  • The client associated with each contact in the CSV file must already exist in Gorelo.
  • The client names in the CSV must match exactly the client names in Gorelo.
  • Client names in Gorelo must be unique.
  • Gorelo limits each import to a maximum of 1000 contacts.

Microsoft 365 sync via CIPP

Gorelo integrates Microsoft 365 via CyberDrain Improved Partner Portal (CIPP) to automate directory management and streamline contract billing. To set this up, configure API credentials within Gorelo’s integrations settings, such as:
  • Tenant ID
  • Application ID
  • Secret
  • API URL
Once active, Gorelo runs an automatic sync every 24 hours. Follow the CIPP guide to generate your credentials:

Create an API client, generate credentials and sync with Gorelo.
Gorelo’s CIPP integration targets users with active, billable software licenses in Microsoft 365. The following list describes which users the sync includes and which ones it doesn’t:
  • Synced (Licensed): Any end user assigned an active Microsoft 365 license (such as Microsoft 365 Business Premium or Exchange Online P1) automatically pulls into Gorelo as an active contact under their respective client organization.
  • Excluded (Unlicensed): The native CIPP sync ignores unlicensed mailboxes (shared mailboxes, aliases) and doesn’t create any separate contact.

Dynamic quantities and contacts

Gorelo restricts native syncing to licensed users to fuel Dynamic Quantities in your client contracts. By syncing licensed seats via CIPP, you can configure mapping rules in your contracts that automatically calculate billing based on active users. Consider the following scenario:
  1. A client hires a new employee and assigns them an M365 license.
  2. CIPP syncs the user into Gorelo.
  3. Gorelo automatically increments the contract seat count on your next billing run.
This directly prevents untracked user additions and reduces the time you would spend manually auditing license counts at the end of the month. Additionally, Gorelo supports multi-selecting CIPP/M365 criteria to aggregate unique contacts into a single billable item.
